robot scientist


Engineering students are quick to say that artificial intelligence will not replace even part of the engineering workforce, but an article was recently published in a scientific journal about a robot that can use the scientific method to replace scientists doing certain series of experiements. "The robot not only performs genetics experiments, it also decides which ones to do, interprets the results and comes up with new hypotheses."

I've said for several years that the next breakthrough we need in computer technology is better search engines. Finally I came across an article reporting real progress.
